"Fantastic new entrant to Melbourne’s dining scene. I see chefs hats in its future. The whole experience was immaculate from being ushered to the restaurant from the entrance to being warmly guided through each course. The service is professional, warm and unpretentious. We started off with some of the best oysters we’ve ever, this set the tone for the rest of the dishes. The standard was maintained throughout. The standouts were the duck, the porchetta (perfectly balanced, not too fatty with a raisin and hazelnut sauce that complement meat perfectly), and all the desserts. The staff recommended cocktails to go with our meal, and I particularly enjoyed the Ruby Negroni. Probably the best cocktail I’ve had all year. The vibes are great in the restaurant and lobby bar. Can be on the loud side, although perfect for getting lost in the moment. Highly Recommended."

"I actually came here after considering a few other restaurants my friend suggested, but the environment didn’t quite meet my expectations. I’m quite picky when it comes to ambience, so I decided to give this place a try instead, and I’m really glad I did. I’ll be honest — the initial service wasn’t great, which was a little disappointing at first. However, Gregor came over, took the time to explain everything to us, and genuinely listened. His professionalism, patience, and warm attitude completely turned the experience around. From that point on, the service was fabulous. The atmosphere felt comfortable and well-managed, and we were able to truly enjoy our time there. Because of this positive experience, I’ve already decided to make another booking with Gregor."

"Spent Galentine’s Day with my best girls at From Here by Mike because we were craving that calm, cosy vibe — and it delivered. We were greeted by such friendly staff and looked after by Bim, who was funny, warm, and so accommodating. The food was amazing, the ambience was perfect for long overdue catch-ups, and we genuinely had the best time just sitting there, talking and laughing for hours. 10/10 Galentine’s energy. Would absolutely do it again."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavour—every dish was prepared to a high standard and served on time. A special mention to the supervisor, mrs. Bimsara who provided exceptional service throughout our visit. They were polite, attentive, and very professional, making sure everything was perfect and that we felt comfortable and well looked after. Their positive attitude truly enhanced our experience. Highly recommended for great food and excellent customer service. We will definitely be coming back!"

"@fromhere.melbourne is located within 1 Hotel Melbourne in Docklands. It’s in collaboration with renowned chef Mike McEnearney @bymikegroup, whose background includes Rockpool and Michelin starred kitchens in London. It was also awarded a hat this year by @goodfoodau! This is not your typical hotel restaurant. The space feels calm with lots of reclaimed and recycled materials that tie in with the river setting. The menu is a celebration of Victorian produce, with a strong focus on seasonality and sustainability, with subtle European and Asian influences. Order a la carte or they have a $100pp Feed Me Menu. There’s a Victoria shaped producer map on the menu, showing where ingredients are sourced from and the kitchen is currently diverting around 87% of waste from landfill! The drinks list features 40+ Victorian winemakers. ⭐ Beef Tartare, Kefir Cream - theatrical and generous
⭐ Goats Cheese Souffle - fluffy and creamy, cheesy without being salty, the baked shallot pairing was spot on
 House Spaghettini - al dente and not overly seafood-y
⭐ Fried Brussel Sprouts, Ricotta Salata - charred and crispy, yet juicy when you bite into them
 Rice Pudding - delicious and not overly sweet, could have been a touch sweeter
⭐ Dark Chocolate Mousse - heavenly. Velvety, not too bitter, with great texture from the nibs This was hands down the best hotel restaurant I’ve been to and one of my favourite meals of the year. Absolutely worth a visit. Please note: we visited a few months ago - so most of the dishes have now changed for the season. However I am confident anything would be delicious!"

"Had an amazing experience at From Here by Mike! The food was absolutely great, and the steak was especially delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. His amazing interpersonal skills made our experience feel welcoming, natural - as he presented himself as witty and relatable. Secondly, From Here by Mike was exactly what we were seeking for a girls sit down dinner. The atmosphere was eccentric, yet pleasantly modest. What accentuates a restaurant is its ability to replicate the culture it’s selling within their dishes. From Here by Mike is exactly that, each dish is unique, extremely fresh, and has the consistent theme of being a luxury plate reminiscent of the nostalgic taste of the freshness from your nanas garden. Overall 10/10 experience, will definitely be back!!"

"A very comfortable venue with some nice views of the river, cosy atmosphere, warm and friendly staff, and generous portions of excellent food. The focus on local produce is a nice unique part of the experience, and it is incredibly tasty. We felt we received exceptional value for the quality of food and service. Even a delicious birthday tart was supplied for the occasion - despite the staff only finding out as we arrived that the booking was for a birthday. Can highly recommend."
